In conclusion, the research was successful. I was able to get a percentage yield of 95%, while following the most environmentally friendly pathway to synthesizing aspirin. If this were to be scaled up and implemented into industry, the impact would be astounding—the aspirin industry is big, and integrating Green Chemistry into its production could potentially have an unparalleled effect on our environment. The complexity and parameters of equipment used are an obvious setback, but I believe that these could be overcome, and this method could be implemented into industry, not just the aspirin production, but other widely used drugs, chemicals, and foods.
